Even such people exists in our society!!!

In a country like India, where people are known for their hospitality and welcoming guests with a big smile, it is surprising to encounter a few who are heartless and do not know how to welcome a guest—or at the very least, refrain from insulting them. I know I can’t expect everyone to be sweet and nice to me, but in our country, shouldn’t we expect basic self-respect and courtesy?

It was a real insult and a terrible experience today when I went to meet someone for a good cause, only to be treated poorly by an educated illiterate woman! Yes, I would call her an educated illiterate! Do they ever learn hospitality in their lives?

A gentleman invited us in, only for a lady to start shouting at the top of her voice, telling us to get out—displaying her frustration and anger toward someone completely new to her! I truly pity her. She is the perfect example of how a woman should not behave. Despite being educated, there are still people like her in this world. I sincerely hope she is put in a similar situation one day and realizes how painful it is to be treated that way.

We can’t expect kind-hearted souls everywhere, and today I learned how people's mentality can change. There are poor souls in our country who simply don’t know how to respect others! Wealth and education mean nothing if they don’t treat people with respect and kindness.

A Journey from Journals to a Full-Time Writing Career

February 2025. Today, I sat down with my cup of coffee, opened my laptop, and found myself on https://maithilyarulraja.blogspot.com/ —a place I hadn't visited in ages. As I scrolled through my old posts, I couldn't help but smile. Each post was a time capsule, taking me back to a simpler time when my only intention was to record life’s little moments and put my thoughts into words. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t polished, but it was pure passion—words written for the joy of writing. The blog began in 2010. Back then, I was working as an IT analyst, with no clue that one-day writing would become my full-time career. I had no grand vision for the blog; I simply wanted a space to share my experiences, document daily events, and reflect on life. Little did I know that those casual posts would lay the foundation for something much bigger—a passion that would eventually turn into my profession. Looking back at the posts, I felt an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Some posts were funn...

FRIENDSHIP

25-March-2010 We all have friends at all stages of our lives. But how many of us keep in touch with them forever??? I always wondered why 99% of friendships break at every stage. I was very close with one of my friends in the 5th class. We used to say we’d never be separated. But now, I don’t even know where she is… Then came my 10th-class friend. We were like flesh and nail—we wore the same dress, ate together, and hung out everywhere. But now she is far away from me. We talk only twice a year—once on her birthday and once on mine. And then, my college friends. Not just one, but 13 of them. Very close to me. We ruled the class! Everyone was jealous of our friendship. But how long would it last??? It was nice to hear my friends say that we’d meet once a year and have fun. But practically… is it possible? Friendship is like a train. It starts at the source station and ends at the destination. It stops at every station along the way. Friends are like passengers—they board the train of fr...

How a Librarian, a Dictionary, and One Habit Shaped Who I Am

When I was in class 6, we had a weekly library period where we could pick any book to read. Simple, right? Well, not for me. The shelves were stacked with fiction books filled with words that looked like hieroglyphics to my young brain. I struggled to make sense of them, and honestly, I felt like a lost tourist in a foreign land. Desperate for a solution, I approached my librarian and poured out my book-related woes. She listened, nodded wisely, and handed me a few books she thought I would understand. And guess what? I actually did! That was the turning point in my reading journey, though at the time, I had no idea it would become a lifelong love affair. I don’t even remember her name now (sorry, ma’am!), but she always picked books for me, and I devoured them. That’s how reading became my hobby! From my grade 6 struggles to now, I’ve evolved into a much more mature reader. Just like my diary has been my best friend , books have been my ride-or-die companions, and I never miss a chanc...
