IN CHARGE WHO DOES NOT HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY

I wonder why someone is called an "in charge" when they lack social responsibility. A lovely apartment complex ( Mars and Venus Apartments, Ladyhill ) here in Mangalore, with more than a hundred flats, does not have a proper team of committee members to manage the association. One gentleman calls himself an authorized person or an "in charge," yet he shows no social responsibility or public interest. In this ego-driven society, there are people who neither help others nor allow anyone else to help. Those who are clueless about management become managers, and those who lack leadership skills become leaders. The unacceptable fact is that they don’t even let capable people manage or lead. When I had to meet a so-called responsible person to discuss my interest in raising awareness (on tiger conservation and saving nature) and sharing knowledge, I was denied permission to put a small piece of information on the notice board—a notice that wouldn’t cost anyone a thing.  T...

Appreciation for the hard work!

It feels nice when people appreciate you for the hard work and efforts you put in. My passion for tigers led me to conduct a successful program at Creations Summer Camp, Managuda, Mangalore, for a group of 50–75 children, with support from God, my dear husband, and my loving dad and mom. I feel grateful to have known Dr. Gayathri, who referred me to Creations Kids Summer Camp. The Tiger Awareness Program was my first step, followed by a quiz for children aged 9–13, which became my second opportunity. It was fun to conduct the quiz and enjoy time with the children in a new place and a new city. A word of thanks from Mrs. Reshma truly made my day (15-04-15). The efforts, hard work, and passion I poured into the program were appreciated by both the organizer and the parents, making me feel wonderful! This is not the end—it’s just the beginning. I’m looking forward to conducting more successful tiger awareness programs and camps in and around the region very soon. Originally posted on 16-A...

My First Butter Cream Cake!

My first ever cream cake :P Finally, on my 4th attempt, I was able to bake a cake and do buttercream icing on it! Learning to bake a cake seems simple, but when I tried it at home, I had a tough time. It took four attempts to make a soft and spongy vanilla cake. Finally, my hard work paid off—I baked a cake that tasted great and was absolutely yummy! Originally posted on 07-April-2015

Even such people exists in our society!!!

In a country like India, where people are known for their hospitality and welcoming guests with a big smile, it is surprising to encounter a few who are heartless and do not know how to welcome a guest—or at the very least, refrain from insulting them. I know I can’t expect everyone to be sweet and nice to me, but in our country, shouldn’t we expect basic self-respect and courtesy? It was a real insult and a terrible experience today when I went to meet someone for a good cause, only to be treated poorly by an educated illiterate woman! Yes, I would call her an educated illiterate ! Do they ever learn hospitality in their lives? A gentleman invited us in, only for a lady to start shouting at the top of her voice, telling us to get out—displaying her frustration and anger toward someone completely new to her! I truly pity her. She is the perfect example of how a woman should not behave. Despite being educated, there are still people like her in this world. I sincerely hope she is put ...

Tiger Awareness program in Mangalore

As a tiger enthusiast, I planned to create awareness among children in Mangalore and have planned for a free tiger awareness program in Mangalore at my place. My Very first cake decoration

"Are you going to spend Rs3000/- for a cake decoration?" was the first question that everyone asked me when I told them I'm going to a class. I too had a great confusion to attend the 4 hour baking class, but my passion towards cakes made me attend the class finally! My first every baking class though it was an expensive class, the techniques and ideas I have learned from there can be used life long... Here is the picture of the first cake decorated by me! God Confusion- Innocent kid - A funny incident

Lord Muruga - The photo on my wall Fairy, a cute little Catholic kid about 4 years old, came to my house last week. She saw the photos of Hindu gods on my pooja shelf and started asking whose photos they were. I said, 'It’s God.' The little girl didn’t know who God was. She asked me, 'Who is God?' I replied, 'It’s Jesus.' She then went close to the picture of Lord Muruga hanging on the wall and said, 'This Jesus is wearing lipstick, mascara, blush, and full makeup. He looks beautiful!' I burst out laughing at her comment. 'Kids of this generation are clever,' I thought to myself. Originally posted on 05-Mar-2015 Edited on 09-Feb-2025

Rewind back to 27-2-2014 - Travelling to Mangalore

27-2-2014 was an unforgettable day for me. I left my parents, my home, my sister, my friends, and Chennai to travel to this beautiful place, Mangalore, with my husband, in-laws, and my dad. If you are born a girl, you eventually have to leave your home and start a new life with your husband in a different home. On 27/2/2014, the train reached Mangalore Central at exactly 8:30 AM. (Appreciate the punctuality of Southern Railways!) We unloaded 21 bags from the train. We had paid ₹1000 to the porter in Chennai to load our luggage onto the train, but the porters in Mangalore charged only ₹100 to load the same bags into our car. Same distance, same weight, but at a much lower price. From that moment, I started liking Mangalore. There were no traffic jams and far less pollution. Everyone riding a two-wheeler wore helmets—which is quite uncommon in Chennai! We reached the beautiful house my husband had rented for us around 9:30 AM and started unpacking. "What do we eat for breakfast?...

How to get selected in job interview?

I feel very proud to say that I have never failed in any of the job interviews I’ve attended since my college days. It all started in 2009 when I faced my first interview at Cybernet Slash Support during campus placements. The interviewer asked me to talk about anything I liked, and I chose to speak about the studious first-benchers and the naughtiest last-benchers in my class. He appreciated the way I greeted him before starting and how confidently I delivered my answers. And yes, he handed me the offer letter right away! My second interview was also during my final year of college with a company called Ajuba. Out of 100+ students, I was the only one selected for a face-to-face round with the HR Manager. I answered every question he asked, and once again, the offer letter was printed on the spot! How did this happen? Interviews are conducted to test your confidence, communication skills, and attitude more than just your technical knowledge. Confidence is key! If you ask me for s...
